The Law of attraction and Christianity: Does the Law of attraction go against Christianity?

Can I practice or believe in ' The Law of attraction' as a Christian? Does the Law of attraction (LOA) go against Christianity? Is the ' Law of attraction evil? Is the Law of attraction ungodly? Does the law of attraction contradict religion / Christianity?

The Law of attraction and Christianity
As a Christian, or anyone firmly grounded in a certain religion or spiritual belief, you often find yourself question or contemplating a new thought or belief or a suggested way of life. You become concerned that it might conflict with your faith or make you doubt it.
I don't have much knowledge on the beliefs ion other faiths other than Christianity and so I will focus on Christianity in this article.

When I first found out about ' The Secret' or ' The Law of attraction' i tried to find out more information as objectively as I could. I am Christian and nothing will ever make me change my beliefs or my faith. I wanted to be sure that ' The Law of attraction' didn't conflict with my beliefs or claim that they were wrong or invalid.

Christianity and The Law of Attraction
The more I looked into the ' law of attraction' the happier I got! If anything, the Law of attraction didn't conflict with Christianity but seemed to fully support it, elaborate on it, and explain a lot which was introduced through it.

The Law of attraction and Christianity

I have found countless similarities between Christianity and The Law of attraction / The secret.

I am a Christian. I was born a Christian and will always remain a Christian. The Law of attraction and the Secret have all just helped me understand Christianity even better.
Everything that I have found out in relation to the Law of attraction I had already known from a Christian perspective. Hearing about the Law of attraction excited me because it made me feel even stronger regarding my faith and believes and that Christianity for me was the right path to follow.

The following are examples of similarities between the Law of Attraction and Christianity:

Believe!

There are numerous passages in the Bible the speak about and emphasize believing and having Faith. This is highly emphasized in the Law of Attraction too. Believing and having faith is basically the foundation of the manifesting In use of the Law. One of the principles of manifestation in using the Law of attraction is to believe in such an extent that you not only Believe you will get what you are hoping for but you actually believe that you have it already!
Believe

From the Bible, the following demonstrates the same kind of belief / faith:
Jesus said to him, “If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.” Mark 9:23
He replied, "Because you have so little faith. Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there,' and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you." Matthew 17:20

Ask!
Another big part of LOA manifestation is asking. This is also the first step in manifesting something.

This too is emphasized in the Bible:
If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer." Matthew 21:22
"Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. Matthew 7:7

Be Kind
Karma

Law of Attraction also makes specific reference to Karma. This is actually supported in both the Law of attraction and Christianity.

The Law of attraction states that like attracts like and that what you put out you get back: Meaning tat negative energy will bring you more negative energy, being mean, wishing bad on others or curses will attract the same to you and the opposite - positivity, love and happiness going out attracts it Right back to you.

Similarly, the Bible also mentions points which could be seen as linked to this:
So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets. Matthew 7:12When I think about it (in my opinion), it could be because the same will be done to you as you do to them. This is similar to the law attraction stating like attracts like and you get back what you put out...
Vengeance belongs to Me; I will repay. In time their foot will slip, for their day of disaster is near, and their doom is coming quickly."  But I tell you, do not resist an evil person. If anyone slaps you on the right cheek, turn to them the other cheek also. Matthew 5:39To me, this relates so closely! I see GOD as The One Who controls the world and the Universe and Karma. To me whenever you make reference to or refer to The Universe you are referring to God or what God does because God controls everything. This Bible verse to me in support of the concept of Karma because it says that God (AKA Karma) will repay - similar to what others do to you they will get done back to them. Similar to what you do, you get back!
"Put your sword back in its place," Jesus said to him, "for all who draw the sword will die by the sword. Matthew 26:52To me, this is also another reference to what you put out you will get back!

Be Grateful
Gratitude

Another strong point of the Law of attraction is gratitude.
The LOA emphasizes the importance of being thankful and grateful in and for everything. Appreciation of what you have brings forth more to be appreciative and thankful for. When you are thankful, God (or what some may call - The Universe) multiplies and gives you more of the good stuff - more to be thankful for.

The Bible states:

Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus. 1 Thessalonians 5:18
And they all ate and were satisfied. And what was left over was picked up, twelve baskets of broken pieces. So the people all sat down. Taking the five loaves and the two fish and looking up to heaven, He (Jesus) gave thanks and broke them. Then He (Jesus) gave them to the disciples to distribute to the people. And they all ate and were satisfied. And what was left over was picked up, twelve baskets of broken pieces. Luke 9:14-17

The Power of thoughts

The Law of attraction amplifies the power of thoughts. It explains that what you think and how you feel influences your life, your reality and the things which occur in it. It explains that negative beliefs or thoughts influence and impact your reality, what you draw into your life and even your health.

Similarly, the Bible states:
For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he Proverbs 23:7
The Power of Words is high in the Law of attraction

The LOA explains that what you say actually manifests into reality more often then not. By speaking negativity you are calling negativity into your life, setting laws on your own life and impacting your own life negatively. It is partly for this reason that affirmations are so important. Not only do they help to try and implement positive thoughts and beliefs in the mind but when spoken out loud they are also putting the power of words to good use.

The Bible states:
The Law of Attraction and Prayer
The words of the reckless pierce like swords, but the tongue of the wise brings healing. Proverbs 12:18
The tongue can bring death or life; those who love to talk will reap the consequences. Proverbs 18:21
For he that will love life, and see good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil, and his lips that they speak no guile. 1 Peter 3:10
And the tongue is a flame of fire. It is a whole world of wickedness, corrupting your entire body. It can set your whole life on fire, for it is set on fire by hell itself. James 3:6
The soothing tongue is a tree of life, but a perverse tongue crushes the spirit. Proverbs 15:4
The one who has knowledge uses words with restraint, and whoever has understanding is even-tempered. Proverbs 17:27
The power of WORDS
Likewise, the tongue is a small part of the body, but it makes great boasts. Consider what a great forest is set on fire by a small spark. The tongue also is a fire, a world of evil among the parts of the body. It corrupts the whole body, sets the whole course of one’s life on fire, and is itself set on fire by hell. James 3:5-8
Those who guard their lips preserve their lives, but those who speak rashly will come to ruin. Proverbs 13:3
Further things demonstrating the Power of the tongue in the Bible are the fact that God SPOKE THE WORDS to create the world. HE SAID  "Let there be light". HE SPOKE IT into existence. Jesus also SPOKE healing over people. HE SAID "Get up and walk", "Your FAITH has made you well."
