Five reasons to be single

        1.      No consent

One of the most annoying things about being in a relationship is the fact that you almost constantly (even if only subconsciously) feel like you need your partners consent for doing certain things. You may feel like you need to ask him/her or even just run it past him/her before a night out with your friends, a weekend away or even some alone time.

      2.      No explanations

Similarly to having to almost obtain permission for certain things, being in a relationship often results in you constantly having to have an explanation for everything. You need to explain or justify your conversation with another guy or girl, give good reason for being late or unavailable or justify the fact that your phone was off. Depending on the kind of relationship your in you may even need to explain or justify why you can’t spend every waking moment with your partner.

     3.      No guilt

Knowing you’re in a relationship puts you under some amounts of pressure in that you may get to a stage where you feel like you almost belong to the other person completely. This could result in feelings of guilt arising when you speak to other guys or girls (even casually without any intention of cheating), spend time with others besides your partner or can’t be with your partner for any reason (maybe you need to work, study or engage in a family affair).

     4.      No fights

One of the biggest downsides to relationships is the fights. Fighting or arguing in a relationship is basically unavoidable as it can be seen as a means of communication. It is still highly stressful nonetheless and is not at all pleasurable. Being single gives you more of a stress-less or tearless lifestyle as there is less to worry, stress or cry about.

     5.      Get spoilt

Likely to be in the top spot with regards to being single is the fact that you get spoilt. Knowing that you’re single means that all the guys who are interested in ‘tying you down’ or getting you into a relationship with them will have reason to try and get or keep your attention resulting in them spoiling you, treating you with the utmost respect, making you feel special and taking you out as much as they could.

Being in a relationship with one person reduces your chances of special dates and treatment especially as the relationship becomes a long term one and the romance aspect of it begins to fade (whether a little or tremendously).

Don't let your relationship status determine your attitude. Whether you're single or in a relationship; there advantages to both so make the most of your current situation.
