I can't forget someone I
met briefly - could it be love? Is it possible to fall in love with someone you
only met once? Is it possible to connect with someone you only spoke to
briefly? How can I find out if the feeling is / was mutual? How can I tell if
he / she feels the same way?
Unfortunately there’s no
quick or solid answer around this:
Is it possible that a
brief encounter could be real love? YES
Is it possible that it
could not be real love? YES
The only way to know for
sure is to give it a shot and the only way you can do that is by reaching out
to the person again.
If you have enough
information (a name, surname, place of work, school they attended etc.)
anything really, you can try and find this person online. Social media is a
major help in tracking someone down when you really want to. With the help of
Facebook, LinkedIn and Instagram, you can find almost anyone with only a little
bit of information to help you out. Sometimes google alone is more than enough
to help you along.
If you have a phone
number then that is even better.
It is important that you address all of your
concerns or reservations:
·
Are either of you in a
relationship?
·
Has the other person
given you the impression that he/she may be in a relationship or is not
interested in you?
If your major concern is
that you are uncertain regarding whether or not he or she is interested in you
in any way, again the only way to find out is to talk to him / her again.
I would suggest the following:
1.
Make contact with
him/her.
Whether via social media, a text a call, etc.
The benefit of a call is you’re not going to spend hours agonizing over whether or not he / she got your message or how long they're going to take to reply.

2.
Chat
to him/her about anything and everything.
Judge his / her tone (does she sound interested, nervous, anxious, uninterested, is he happy to hear from you etc.).
Try and get to know him/her better via phone conversations or text. You already know that there is physical chemistry or that you’re interested in their outer appearance based on your initial encounter so now all that is left is to find out whether or not you’re on the same page emotionally.
This is extremely important.

3.
Fish for information.
Try and find out as much as possible about him/her.
The most important thing to get out of the way is probably whether or not he / she is in a relationship.
If he / she is a high value guy or lady (the type you would want to get involved with), and in a relationship, this would deter him/her from showing interest in you. It’s important to know this so that you don’t feel self-conscious - like it’s something you may have done wrong.

4.
If it does seem like he
/ she has some interest in you - Make the next move.
Be Brave. Suggest coffee or ice-cream just to “catch up”. You may not want to suggest an all-out date like dinner or something because he/she is more likely to be open to a more informal date at first.

In a nutshell, the fact
that you still think about this person, shows that those thoughts or feelings
are not going to just disappear all by themselves. The only way forward is to
know for sure. Take the leap. The worst that can happen is you’re not on the
same page in some way or another BUT the winning part is
that either way you can finally move forward (whether together or not) and go
on with your life.
Good luck!!
