    1. Hey there!

      Thanks for commenting :)

Online dating as with many other things in life is based on taking your chances and being trusting of the system but also not in anyway naive.
Many people out there might not be entirely honest about themselves where as others might be completely honest.

According to statistics people mostly lie about mundane things such as making themselves a little taller than what they actually are or exaggerating their work positions or salaries. According to other stats only 10% of all online dating profiles are complete spam accounts.

There is no sure way or exact statistics that will make knowing who's being honest and who isn't completely easy to figure out. The only way to find out is by meeting up.

There can be no harm in meeting someone to find out just how true your online conversations actually were. Online dating first dates can actually be really fun. You have the thrill, excitement and element of surprise to look forward to.
The most important thing to keep in mind though is to keep safe. Always meet in public places, let someone know where you're going and make your own way to and from the venue at least for the first few dates.

Another option would be to try something like skype first. This is a little more personal than online chats and a whole lot safer and less "out there" if you're a little shy.

      Hope this helps a little.
